Hi everyone,
I have been considering for the past couple of weeks of withdrawing my daughter from school and starting HE with her. She is nearly 6 and suffers from GDD. The first parents night (8 weeks after she started) I was told there was a possibility of her being held back. It was more or less confirmed to me last week. To me it seems as though she was written off at week 8. She has been finding school exceptionally difficult and has been apologising to me and in tears because she can't do the work - it breaks my heart to see her like this. She is much more a hands on learner as opposed to a sit down and learn child, unfortunately this doesnt seem to be realised. The more I think about it the more I see HE as the way forward.
I am so so glad to have found these forums and I am going to pour over them and get as much information as posible. I am based in Scotland. I seen some mention of a Scottish forum but can't seem to find it, I'm wondering if I am missing something ? Anyway I think I have rambled on for quite a bit ! Just thought I would introduce myself before I ask any of the million questions in my head !
