I've got an ecommerce site which I plan to have revamped this year to incorporate more of the features I want.

The possibilities are endless, and largely dependent on your budget, but the main options are:
  • bespoke (probably unnecessarily expensive for your needs)
  • template based using something like oscommerce, cubecart or similar (fine for a basic shop and can be customised)
  • a hosted ecommerce solution like Internet Retailer which involves a monthly fee rather than major upfront outlay
