Default Help!!!!

I wonder if anybody here is able to direct me to any specific pieces of legislation or government guidelines which state that home education & welfare/safeguarding SHOULD NOT be conflated?

Due to my little (8yr old) son having foolishly prank called the police last week we have been referred to social services & the social worker who attended my house (& who I sent packing with a flea in her ear) is attempting to take the approach that my children are "unseen" & therefore might be at risk unless she is allowed to come & inspect them & interview them alone This will of course be happening over my dead body & my solicitor has assured me they're trying it on but he would like to send them a letter, no later than tomorrow morning, stating exactly why they cannot do so & any supporting legislation would be extremely helpful!

Please help!

Have you looked here?

http://edyourself.org/articles/socia...hildprotection

Also the Home Education Guidelines to LAs in England

Hope you get it sorted soon.

There was also some discussion of this subject on the HE-UK list in the last month.

Hope you get it sorted.

I've commented about this in more detail elsewhere but it would be a good idea to collect all the info you've been given and stick it somewhere accessible, I reckon. Hopefully no-one else will go through it but you never know.

Hugs, Lou xx
