Default The Badman Review

There has been much comment around the various home education forums and blogs about the make up of the panel being put together by Graham Badman to undertake the independent review of elective home education in England.

I am therefore posting a simple poll to ascertain how this 'independent' review is perceived by those who are affected by it.

The question is this:

How confident are you that the 'independent' review of elective home education in England will be conducted fairly and impartially by Graham Badman and his panel members, and that the final recommendations will be based on valid and substantiated evidence from reliable sources.

Default Not Confident in the Current HE Review

I have NO confidence that the "independent" review will be, independent, impartial or fair.

There is already evidence that the review is NOT being conducted in a fair or impartial way. It is my strong view that Graham Badman is wholly unsuitable to chair the review panel on Home Education given his apparent pecuniary interests in the very existence of the school system. His chosen panel appear to have no inside experience of Home Education, but lots of experience of the school system, education compulsion and the National Curriculum including many of them being paid to conduct research and formulate plans for its continuance and alteration. It would appear that most of the panel members depend on the state school system for their incomes.

It has become clear that this review is less about Home Education and more about the continued erosion of parent's and children's rights. Are the NSPCC so blind that they "really" believe that this is about safeguarding children? This is about safeguarding the government and its aims to become a totalitarian state. Home Educating families are one of the last bastions of the family unit. For totalitarianism to succeed the government has to become the sole "parent" and the NSPCC is complicit in this. All parents , HE or not need to wake up and smell the coffee!

Agreed! This is not just a home education issue, but part of a concerted attack on all families. Those who are considered most 'off message' are simply demonised as child abusers or worse because public opinion is easily manipulated when money (and morality) is no object.

I do think many more parents are starting to wake up, especially as the pace of new legislation is accelerating (they have deadlines to meet for their planned new world order, and bad publicity has been causing delays).

Our only hope is to rouse the still somnambulent before it's too late.
