If I had a website that didn't offer the facility for readers to place comments on articles then is that generally regarded as undemocratic nowadays even if there is an email address to send comments to the webmaster?

In my opinion if it is no comment then fine........however... if ,like certain elements of the media, it were a case of comments being available for some articles but not for others then I find that undemocratic imho
