Default UNCRC incorporation consultation response

The Scottish Home Education Forum has responded to the Scottish Government's consultation on incorporating the UNCRC into Scots domestic law.

Read the background and our submission here

Comment piece: UNCRC incorporation into Scots law: trick or treat?

We have called for direct incorporation (give the government's inability to differentiate between rights and state diktat) and for the creation of an independent children's rights tribunal, This would allow children, young people and their advocates to bring complaints about infringements of any of their UNCRC rights, not just those those that gatekeepers approve of. We also believe in equal protection for school pupils who do not have access to the same redress as adults through employment and whistleblowing legislation, or even to have cases of physical or sexual assault by staff/fellow pupils properly investigated.
