So many connections but will stick with these Gerry Hassan links Especially for Earthtracer because I know how much he admires DEMOS

Sheila, you are indefatigable at delving into the huge piles of ordure that the internet and other rapid means of communication have generated. It is good that you do, because most of us are turned completely off - which allows the like of Elvidge and other schemers to scheme with impunity, politicians being largely (though not all of them) useless.
As for Demos, it is just another self-promoting bunch who have created a little polemical niche for themselves, where they can sound off and presumne to be important. There are a whole load of these outfits now, none of which are of any real importance, imho, and all representing their own wee viewpoints. Can't be bothered with any of them. I think I am becoming rather cynical....

Perhaps the most worrying aspect of all this is that well-meaning people are being manipulated into agitating for this... I can see the appeal, it sounds lovely. However having ploughed my way through a lot of very boring reports, "Measuring what Matters" boils down to the state measuring EVERYTHING, right down to individual and household level, in real time and over time, well-being and sustainability...
