Just wanted to say Hi as I am new to the forum. We took our daughter out of school in March to Home Educate her. She is 15, much happier and a lot more relaxed now!!
It's great that there is so much support on the forum. Our daughter is enjoying the freedom to learn at her own pace, and we have already had quite a few days out (in the rain!). I am worried however about meeting our LA next week, she rang and asked for a visit, so we agreed to a meeting at a local children's centre. I am only concerned because of some of the negative experiences people seem to have had with 'officials'. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Gill (from Bolton) |

to the forums, Gill. You aren't obliged to meet with the LA, as I'm sure you already know. Hopefully someone more local to you will pop up shortly to say hello.

Hi Gill,
Are you in touch with home edders in your area? They might be able to clue you in to what to expect with the LA. I think it's a pity the local council (far more user friendly and fairly neutral) changed to being called the local authority (rather threatening and authoritarian). Welcome to the forums.
