Default Stigmatising minorities: just part of the job description

An update from Schoolhouse on the outcome of its complaint to the Scottish Parliament about the conduct of Duncan McNeil MSP in the days following the Riggi tragedy

Stigmatising minorities: just part of the job description

Quote:
MSPs are immune from any form of parliamentary censure for misleading the public about the law and for articulating political views which are deeply offensive to, and deliberately stigmatising of, a minority community.

That needs to be changed!
Well done for eliciting this reply - one can perhaps sense a degree of sympathy from the Presiding Officer...

"The publication of debates or proceedings outside Parliament of a fair and accurate account of a debate in either House is protected by the principle that the public interest outweighs a private injury resulting from the publication, unless malice is proved." (English law)

It's obviously a malicious attempt to stigmatise home educators. Not just that, should we not expect MPs of any colour to behave better than that man did and to be careful of the 'facts' they choose to showcase.

Not good enough.
