Default unwanted home visit

Hi all, I am just ready to post my request for withdrawal and thought I would check the local councils attitude towards HE. Quote from Stirling council website.
"Many local parents enrol their children in a Stirling Council or independent school, however you may wish to consider home education. If so, you are requested to write to the Head of Education, at the above address, who will arrange a visit from an Education Officer."
Could anyone please advise me how to prepare for this as I do not want a visit or liaise with LA any more than I have to. I just want to get consent so that I can concentrate on educating my own children.

You don't need to have a visit or a meeting. The Scottish guidance is quite clear on that. You'll find all the relevant info in the legal section of the Schoolhouse website.

If you send in your outline of provision with the formal withdrawal request letter, they should respond within a reasonable timescale.

You could remind them of what the Scottish Government's Statutory Guidance says - with quotes from sections 3, 4 and 5 in particular

Stirling Council are citing the 1908 Ed Act on their website after hurriedly adding a para to the Homeschooling <sic> section after an FOI went in.

Time to reinstate the #Talking TotalTosh awards?

We are in the Stirling Council area and I contacted them a while ago about the problems with this page of their website. Needless to say they have done nothing!
