Young people's forum

As we all know, young people enjoy and are adept at using social media, including networking forums, to meet and keep in touch with virtual friends and communities of interest.

Home Education Forums hosts its own (restricted access) Young People's Forum which home educated children and young people are welcome to join as long as their parents agree to their participation. It is moderated by a home educated young person with experience of running forums and two responsible adults who have managed the Schoolhouse teens' mailing list for several years and whose participation is limited to the posting of relevant announcements and dealing with any issues relating to forum use.

To access the private forum, a young person should first register here as a HEF member.

Then a parent should email the young person's username confirming parental permission for him/her to join the young people's forum and an administrator will activate the necessary permissions.

We insist on these measures to ensure the security of children and young people when using our forums.
